No Captain No Problem

Another day another 4s win.

Watching the win from a beach chair with wine in hand was very much a day in the life for el capitano. Same day different surroundings.

Taking a weekend break can often be a stressful thing for a captain. Will the 4s finally get promoted? Will the umpire call no balls on Kirbys chucks? Will Dunleavy get out first ball trying to slog sweep it over cow? But it turns out the 4s had it all in hand with an emphatic victory.

The match started strongly with a 83 run partnership between Mr Shenfield and the u16 Tour de France Champion. The Latter reaching his 50 in just 44 balls. Usually this would be a highlight of any 4’s innings but the Big Biffa Ollie Lambert smacked 78 of 43 balls with just 14 runs coming from inside the boundary rope. I have heard rumours he is willing to offer the 1s some batting tips at nets on Tuesday .

Then came our turn to bowl defending 271, a score which looking on paper to be insurmountable. Jamie Kirby who has become a fixture in the 4s in recent years bowled his full allocation with 6 wickets for just 21 runs. A bowling display to be proud of, but “sadly” just short of joining the 7 club. I am sure we will all hear about this spell for weeks to come. Ben holland also taking 2 wickets and Harry McNeil dismissing the oppos only real resistance who had scored 116 off 73 balls.

In the end it was a vintage 4s display with 20 big ones coming our way. #Upthe4sDownwithBor
